The Yaralla Estate at Concord West, Sydney, is a substantially intact example of a large Edwardian private residential estate. Yaralla was developed by the Walker family between 1848 and 1937 as a farm, pleasure garden, residence and one of Sydney’s premiere social destinations. You can see it and learn about it on our Open Day.

We have arranged with the Yaralla’s custodian (NSW Health) for parking near the inner gates and access to the extensive grounds and gardens (37 ha) between 9:30am and 3:00pm. You can enter the Dairy, Squash Court and the Stable buildings#, see our photo displays of Yaralla and its personalities, purchase books about Yaralla and the Walkers and enjoy an excellent Devonshire Tea of homemade scones served in the Dairy. Our knowledgeable guides lead tours of the grounds and buildings# starting at 10am. As you tour the site you’ll hear of its history, and fascinating stories of the people who lived in, worked at and visited it. Tours start from the Dairy and take about 75 minutes. We suggest that you wear a hat and comfortable shoes as the tour route is about 1.5km, some of which is over uneven ground. Last tour 1:30pm. Picnicking and photography encouraged. Yaralla is NSW Heritage listed.

Booking is essential as the tours sell out quickly.

Refund policy

You can action a self-service partial refund (90% of ticket price, excluding booking and card merchant fees) or cancellation up to the day before the event using the “Manage Order” button on your order confirmation email. We won’t refund on the day, but you can transfer your ticket to someone else, or request an exchange to one of our future events by contacting us using the “Contact Host” button on your order confirmation email. If the event must be cancelled due to factors outside our control (extreme weather conditions/government restrictions), all tickets will be transferred to a new date. If you cannot attend the new date and apply within the correct time frame (you will be notified via email if this situation unfolds), you will be entitled to a 90% refund of your ticket price, excluding booking fees.

The City of Canada Bay Heritage Society Inc. is a charity whose purpose is to advance culture through the aims set out in its Constitution. Which are:

To foster interest in and inform the community of the heritage – historically and culturally – of the City of Canada Bay LGA.
To promote the preservation, restoration, conservation, maintenance and use of all places, buildings, monuments, etc., of historic, architectural, cultural and environmental significance within the area.
To acquire and preserve for the Society, books, manuscripts, newspapers, photographs, oral histories, etc., as may be considered to have a bearing on the history of the area.
To establish and conduct a social history museum.
To foster interchange of information among members of the Society and any other interested people, by talks, readings, discussions, exhibitions of heritage, historical and archival material, and excursions.
