Event description

‘On Country/In Residence’ is a walking artist residency by artist collective BodyPlaceProject and guest artists across Corhanwarrabul/the Dandenong Ranges. Over three days along the tracks of ngurrak barring, we will share our site-responsive creative practices and explore what it means to listen to Country. We will then develop artworks for an exhibition in 2025.

You are invited to an informal gathering with the artists in the thick of our residency. From our immersive experience of walking through the varied environments of Corhanwarrabul, we will share some of our prevailing explorations and observations with interested locals.

Artists: Gretel Taylor, Gulsen Ozer, Laki Sideris, Tammy Wong Hulbert, Jill Orr, Aarti Jadu, Mandy Nicholson and Djirri Djirri dancers.

Some light refreshments will be available.

You can find out more about BodyPlaceProject here and follow On Country/In Residence via our online journal here

BodyPlaceProject is supported by Yarra Ranges Council through a Partnership, Arts and Heritage grant and a ngurrak barring residency. On Country/In Residence project has also been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
