    Event description

Join Kristal West, granddaughter to the legendary Dr Eddie Mabo and Dr Bonita Mabo, as she hosts a very special edition of Yarning Strong in recognition and celebration of Mabo Day. Along with Royston Noell, Kee’ahn (proud Yalanji, Jirrbal, Badu Islander artist) and Will Pawa-Oui (Support Act’s First Nations Program Lead), you will be in for an immersive journey into the heart of Torres Strait Islander culture as we explore the profound concept of interconnectedness.

This special event invites you to delve into the rich tapestry of connections that define the Torres Strait Islander way of life – from the deep-rooted relationship with the land and sea to the bonds shared with communities and the melodies that echo through their souls.

This event will be online and you can access the stream via our FACEBOOK channels.

Panellists: Kristal West (host), Royston Noell, Kee'Ahn and Will Oui
