Yarning Strong - NAIDOC Week - Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud!
Event description
Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, loud and proud: Fostering Resilience and Mental Health and Wellbeing through music. Â
Join Mitch Tambo alongside other First Nations creatives as they explore 2024’s NAIDOC theme in the context of how resilience, mental health and wellbeing can be expressed through music.  Â
"Blak, Loud and Proud" encapsulates the unapologetic celebration of Indigenous identity and empowerment to stand tall in their culture and assert their place in the modern music industry. This theme calls for a reclamation of narratives, an amplification of voices, and an unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and the mental and emotional wellbeing of all First Nations people.  Â
This panel invites all Australians to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue, fostering a society where the wisdom and contributions of Indigenous peoples are fully valued and respected.Â
