Yarragin: Around the Fire, Under the Stars...(overnight camp)
Event description
Wildflowers? Stars? Wildlife? Bushwalk? Birdwatching? Nature? Culture? Camping?
Is it time to sit with others around the fire at night?
We invite you to join us at Yarragin Private Retreat and take a journey into an ancient wisdom of culture.
Join Dr Noel Nannup and crew, sit under the stars and around the fire at our new wheatbelt campground.
Get out on Country and discover the magic of Yarragin Rock.
This will be quite different to past journeys. It is a self-cater and self-drive overnight camp at Yarragin Private Retreat (3 hours east of Perth)
Family and children are welcome to attend however guardians must be responsible for the care of their own kids.
Logistics - What to bring - apart from yourselves :)
Please pack your own meals, camping equipment, walking shoes, chairs, water/drinks and snacks. There is a gas BBQ at camp and camp stoves to heat up water for a cuppa. (Stretcher tents are brilliant, we might have a spare if need be).
This will be an alcohol and drug free event.
Temporary drop toilets on site. Public toilets are available a short drive away in the towns of Trayning (15minutes) and Kununoppin (8minutes).
We will meet on the Saturday at the Noble Falls Walk Trail Car Park on Toodyay Road, Gidgegannup to tune in from 9am for a 10am departure.
Travel is via Toodyay, Goomalling, Dowerin, Wyalkatchem, Trayning, Kunnunoppin and then north along the Kununoppin-Mukinbudin Road to Yarragin Rock, 1.7km along Kidd Road.
Self catered lunch will be at our campsite at Yarragin Private Retreat.
There will then be an opportunity to walk to the top of Yarragin Rock to view our campsite to the South.
Camp setup at Yarragin Private Retreat will be around 2pm. (we'll share more details about directions upon booking). There will be an opportunity to spend time together, yarn around the fire at night and explore the campsite.
