Yasmina Workshops & Show 27th-28th September 2025

A weekend of workshops and Saturday night 'Kalam El Nass' Show with Yasmina of Cairo at Amera's Palace 27th and 28th September 2025.

Yasmina of Cairo has a long history as a teacher, choreographer and performer in oriental dance on the global stage. After a long performing career throughout the middle East and in Cairo, she has remained a part of the Cairo dance scene where she is the owner of the Belly Dancers' B&B in Cairo, teaching and hosting dancers from around the world, as well as travelling to appear at international events. Her seven music CD's and five documentaries on the Egyptian dance scene are must-haves for all dancers. Yasmina is also co-owner of Bellydance Now, an organisation based in the UK, and runs the Bellydance Now International Challenge, a development-based competition for dancers everywhere. No stranger to Australia, Yasmina has taught workshops and performed in past years around the country. Now she is back! Workshops:

Saturday 27th September

11am- 1pm Modern Egyptian Technique and Combinations, Yasmina-style 

Yasmina will break down her basic technique including emphasis on posture, muscle engagement and weight change, as well as basic transitions between steps to build up a fluid vocabulary. (All levels)

2pm-4pm Improvisation Clinic

Free yourself from choreography! Fun and creative techniques for exploring improvisation. (All levels)

SATURDAY NIGHT The 'Kalam El Nass' Show! 7pm-10pm

Be entertained from the stage and the couch in a unique evening of interview, chat and performances from Yasmina and celebrity guests! Our special presentation 'Kalam el Nass' will be a show unlike any you've seen before.

Sunday 28th September

11am-1pm ‘The Freedom of Choreography’

What makes a choreography feel 'authentic' and right with the music? In this workshop Yasmina will take sections from different pieces of music and explore this topic....an exciting and different way of approaching the creativity of choreography. (Intermediate and advanced) This workshop will be held across the road from Amera's Palace at the Vintage Dance Studio

 2pm-4pm ‘Bring it all together!’

Choreography to a classic song including expression of lyrics. Building on technique and ideas developed through the weekend, Yasmina will add important elements of drama and meaning to teach a full choreography to a classic song.
