    YASS! SYDNEY TAKEOVER!

    QTOPIA and YAAS! are partnering up for our 1st SYDNEY EXCURSION to Australia's NEW Queer Centre of History - QTOPIA

    Saturday 29th June GET READY FOR A FULL DAY OF ACTIVITY

    Qtopia Sydney, The new Australian Queer Centre of History was opened by prime minister Anthony Albanese in February as the world’s largest queer museum. With significant investment from the NSW government, Sydney council, and a $1m donation from Murdoch foundation the cultural hub in Darlinghurst Australia now has a welcoming and inclusive space devoted to the memory, education and celebration of the unique histories and lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community.

    The centre hosts exhibitions, live performances, education programs, events and community programs aimed to inspire, educate and provoke conversations to ensure that education and awareness are the foundation of a new future of tolerance, acceptance, respect and love.

    YAAS is hosting a full day of fun with an excursion to sydney, which includes, lunch, a walking tour encompassing all four unique locations of the largest Queer Centre of History and Culture in the world. Hosted by storytellers committed to the core principles of empowerment and inclusivity we will all have lunch and do a tour with Special Guest for YAAS DAY is Qtopia Cofounder and Australia's First openly gay @NRL player,Ian Roberts !

    YASSlings! It’s excursion time! What to bring

    • A refillable water bottle
    • Weather appropriate clothes 
    • Your phone! Selfies are essential
    • Noise cancelling headphones – for those of us sensitive to noise
    • A good attitude and a sense of fun
    Program:

    10am Depart from FunHaus Factory in Gosford be aware that we will strictly NOT wait any longer than this time!

    12pm Arrival and lunch in the park (Green Park)

    1pm - Toilets/Bags stowed, short walking tour from green park to Qtopia Forbes St (Area History, Gaol, Courthouse and Police station)

    1:30pm – Exhibition Visit (45 minutes)

    2:30pm – Speaker and discussion (Ian Roberts)

    3pm – Creative ‘hands on’ activity

    4pm – Pack up & Head back to the Coast!
