Join us for YDAS's Together: Access & Inclusion Training!

If you work or want to work with young people, disabled people or the community - YDAS's Together Training is for you! Our training, designed and delivered entirely by disabled young people, uses both lived experience storytelling and practical interactive activities to support you to be more confident, motivated and capable of working with disabled young people in accessible and inclusive ways. We offer ongoing implementation support following your completion of the training, meaning you will be directly supported to implement your learnings into organisational action and change.

Session Details

Date: Friday April 19th, 2024

Time:10am - 2:30pm (AEDT) - lunch break included

Location: Zoom - registrations will be sent the link

Note: ticket bookings will close on Friday April 12th to ensure adequate time for accessibility need booking.

Topics & Outcomes

Participants of our Together Training will learn:

  • The impact of assumptions and how to challenge them, 
  • How to ask good questions to disabled young people, 
  • How to understand disability models, 
  • The complexities of disability and language,  
  • About intersectional disabled experiences, 
  • How to commit to access & inclusion, 
  • How to plan, communicate, deliver & review accessible work, 
  • About access keys & social scripts and practice using them.


Pricing Model

We have a flexible pricing model which honours the different capacity attendees may have to pay for the training. We trust you to pay for the ticket that best aligns with your situation. 

  • Workers supported by your organisation - $250.00 + GST
  • Workers paying themselves - $100.00 + GST
  • Unwaged/student attendees - $50.00 + GST

If you need help figuring out which ticket you should order, or if you might need a payment plan or flexible payment option, reach out to us. Additionally, if you are an organisation who is interested in sending multiple attendees, please consider our Paid Organisation Training options, and reach out to us to discuss. If all tickets are sold out - please add yourself to our waiting list to be notified when tickets become available or when we announce another training.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available on certain conditions. 

  • If you request a refund with at least 14 days' notice, you will be provided a full refund. 
  • If you request a refund with 7-14 days' notice, you will be provided a half-refund.
  • If you request a refund within the 7 days before the training, we will be unable to offer a refund.
  • If you can no longer attend your session but work with someone else who would like to take your spot, please contact our team with at least 7 days' notice, and we can swap your ticket details.

Accessibility

All our sessions are designed to be accessible and inclusive for attendees. This includes:

  • automatic captions on Zoom
  • regular short breaks and a longer lunch break
  • information provided in advance & resources sent after the training
  • the capacity to communicate however works best for you (ie. chat, voice, tools)
  • flexibility and understanding - from our disabled facilitation team
