For one night only, the creatures of the Smell Dimension have made a home in Footscray. Golden Scissor Puppets transforms a derelict building into an immersive world where puppetry, performance, and installation art converge, creating a space that is as absurd as it is alive.

Visitors are invited to step into a shifting, unstable environment where the rules of reality bend. Puppets lurk in unexpected corners, figures move through the space with unknowable intent, and the air hums with something just slightly off. Roving performers blur the line between audience and spectacle, while analogue projections and an eerie, layered soundscape make it unclear whether the world is assembling or falling apart.

This isn’t an exhibition—it’s a temporary world, built for a single night of celebration, exhalation, and commemoration for the Year of the Freak. A housewarming for the lost and the strange. A moment of levity before the breach seals shut again.
