Future of Work: Preparing Young People for a Changing World

The world of work is changing quickly, with new technologies, shifting industries and evolving career pathways reshaping what young people may need to navigate in the years ahead.

Join YEAWA for an online Town Hall meeting exploring what these changes could mean for schools and educators, and how we can help young people build the capabilities to adapt, make informed choices and contribute meaningfully in a changing world.

Bridget Staude, Educator in Residence at YEAWA will open the session with key insights from research including the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, including changing workforce trends and skill demands.

We’ll then hear from guest speakers, who will each share a short practical example, idea or approach from their context that is helping prepare young people for the future.

The session will conclude with an educator Q&A and discussion, creating space to explore what these ideas could look like in different school contexts.

The conversation will also connect to the YEAWA Entrepreneurial Skills, including agency, adaptability, critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Working across government, Catholic and independent schools, YEAWA connects educators with practical approaches, professional learning and the wider innovation ecosystem. Its work helps teachers create authentic learning experiences that enable young people to act on opportunities, solve meaningful problems and create value for themselves, others and place.

Throughout the year, YEAWA hosts a range of events including professional learning workshops, online Town Halls, networking opportunities and sessions that connect educators with researchers, industry, entrepreneurs and other practitioners. These events create space to share ideas, explore what entrepreneurial education looks like in practice and build connections across WA’s education and innovation communities.
