YEEVS w/ The Tambourine Girls + Rita B + Dusken Lights
Event description
YEEVS + The Tambourine Girls + Rita B + Dusken Lights
Following a string of singles, Gadigal-based three-piece YEEVS have just released their first new album in five years, ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’. Their most layered, melodic and multifaceted release yet was mixed by Tim Kevin (The Apartments, Restless Leg). ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’ is about boundaries both physical, mental and emotional, and the resilience that is needed in navigating each fork in the road.
YEEVS will be taking the record on the road for a run of shows in November. Joining them at The Servo will be The Tambourine Girls, Rita B and Dusken Lights
Following the release of singles No Plans To Change And Detox, Gadigal-based three-piece YEEVS are set to release their first new album in five years, ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’. Written and recorded from 2020-2023, it’s the band’s most layered, melodic and multifaceted release yet. Recorded in the Blue Mountains with additional recording done by Tim Kevin at Tempe River Studios, ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’ shows a band at their most enriching and dynamic. ‘The Borderline, Thereabouts’ is about boundaries both physical, mental and emotional, and the resilience that is needed in navigating each fork in the road. First single No Plans to Change reveals a softer and more gentle musical approach that follows an inconsistent and unreliable narrator, whereas Detox is set amongst the bitter chaos of unintentionally hearing the unravelling of neighbours’ disputes. Other songs like Reason We Went to War showcase a straight-ahead pulsing rock approach with each riff carrying an unfolding sense of vulnerability. For over 10 years now, YEEVS have been quietly playing the long game of being in a rock band, being friends and being able to sustain a musical partnership that has only grown deeper with time.
