Yellow Bellied Beats - A Night For Forests

Event description

JOIN US FOR A PARTY WITH A PURPOSE

The Bellingen Activist Network & Bellingen Brewery are teaming up to bring the community a night of music and dance to raise money for our much loved and threatened local forests.

These are the forests that sustain the life-systems of the entire Bellingen area.

100% of ticket profits will go directly to standing up against native forest logging through direct action and challenging a system that puts profit over our planet.

Australia is a world leader in extinction. Hundreds of species are on track to go extinct in our lifetime.

Once that happens, there's no going back.

Forestry Corp is smashing the forest refuges that only just survived the Black Summer bushfires. Without habitat left standing, we have no chance.

Bellingen Activist Network (BAN) calls on the community to take sustained collective action to defend what’s left of our life-support systems.

Join us for a night of connection for country, climate and culture.

BAN acknowledges that this event will be held on Gumbaynggirr Homelands. We recognise the ongoing resistance of First Nations people against colonialism and respectfully honour Elders past, present and emerging.

ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE ABORIGINAL LAND.

Who is BAN?

We are a network of individuals across many groups; driving community-led organising and direct action across Gumbaynggirr homelands. We are dedicated to protecting lands, waters and communities from colonial destruction, across a wide range of issues.

We aim to build the resistance against ecological destruction across these homelands; through up-skilling, building relationships and growing our networks through open and accessible meetings. We will support local movements that already exist, while staying responsive to new calls for solidarity in defence of country, climate and culture.
