Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice focused on holding poses for several minutes to target the deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments, and joints, rather than muscles. Inspired by principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it often aligns with seasonal energies and works with the body’s meridians, or energy channels, to restore balance. Yin Yoga emphasizes stillness and mindful breathing, promoting relaxation, flexibility, and introspection. It’s an ideal complement to more active, yang-style practices and helps to release tension, calm the mind, and improve joint mobility over time.
A sound bath is a full immersion into the ancient healing vibrations of both Gongs and Singing Bowls allow the individual to elicit a full relaxation response, lowering stress and tension and rejuvenating the body and mind. The healing powers that come from the beautiful sounds and vibrations delivered while in a relaxed state, activates the parasympathetic nervous system allowing the overworked sympathetic nervous system to take a back seat.
