Event description

During the colder months enjoy some Yin Yoga @ home in your pyjamas.

Crank up the heat and allow yourself to unwind with some Yin Yoga before bed!

Yin yoga is a gentle and soft practise that is incredibly healing for the connective tissues in the body, everyone is welcome and you don't need to have any yoga experience to join.

There are plenty of options provided for all body types!

If you've always wanted to meditate but have trouble sitting still with your thoughts, this practise is like a moving meditation and provides another gateway into meditative states.

Things we may use for practise: You will receive confirmation of exactly what props you'll need 1hr before class.

- A Yoga Mat (you can also lay on a blanket if you don't have one)

- A Bolster (a pillow is a great substitute for this)

- A blanket (or a towel)

- 2 x Yoga Blocks (books or anything else that is a similar shape may also be used)

- A Strap (a rope or even a towel may be used in some cases)

Ideal Recommendations:

As with all self-care practises something is better than nothing, however these are my top tips for getting the best out of the experience.

1. Get ready for bed

This practise is very calming and relaxing. I recommend doing as much as possible before you start so that you can crawl straight into bed. You can then ride the calm and relaxed vibes into a nice deep sleep. If that means showering, going to the bathroom, brushing your teeth, putting your PJ's on and pre-packing things for the next day go for it.

2. Set up your space

Ideally somewhere nice and quiet where you won't be disturbed. As Yin is an inward practise do your best to limit bright lights and anything nearby that may be stimulating. Do your best to stay off your phone during and after practise and as soon as the practise is finished turn off the computer. I recommend practising in dim lights or by candlelight. Perhaps with some lavender oil in the diffuser. You will need to be able to hear my voice and I will also be playing some relaxing music.

3. Log in early

I'll open the meeting from 7:45pm so that you can sort out any technical challenges and get your sound right. This is a great time to ask any questions as during practise we don't usually talk or ask questions.
You'll receive an email 1 hour before practise with the zoom meeting link.
