Atma Prema:Yin
Sanskrit for the self-love for one's true-self.
As we enter winter, join Trent from the Enlightened Monkey on a 60 minute yin class, to slow down and nurture yourself. This class will be themed around slowing down for the Water element of Winter from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Taking the time to listen inwards, through intentional activity.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is a slow paced yoga asana practice, bringing focus to hold poses for anywhere between 2-10 minutes to help release tension, bring focus and help the connective tissue of fascia, which surround and support all parts of the body.
Yin Yoga invites you to hold space for yourself, bringing compassion and unlike other asana's like Vinyasa/Hatha, is intended for only 80% effort and see's you relax into poses, as opposed to tensing and contraction.
What to bring?
Mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters are available, however if you wish to bring your own mat, feel free to. Water is recommended but otherwise just yourself.
