"Yindyamarra" = Embodies values of respect, gentleness and moving forward with consideration, it reflects living with respect for the land and oneself.

This is the energy we are aiming to attract to this event on indigenously held land of Camp Wollemi. The location is St Albans, just past Wisemen's Ferry approximately 2 hours North West from Sydney.

What to Expect?

A guided collective journey to reflect, acknowledge and release 2024 with gratitude before turning toward what's to come. A free flow deeply restful sacred journey of transition. A deep dive for the soul, where each individual has the opportunity to bring their unique gift as a welcome and neccessary part of the whole as we come together as a village with ceremony and ritual to bring healing to ourselves, each other, the land and culture. It is an Interwoven experience and creation as we transition from one year and open to the next.

Maximum cap of 140 people.- A free flow of music, DJ's, Live Jams, workshops, Respect to Country, Theatre performance, Beach river relaxing & more.
Usually on this land we turn the noise down from midnight onwards to respect the neighbours so we will be going acoustic into the AM's. (besides NYE)

Yindyamarra is a Waradjuri nation word and its translations include being gentle and respectful to the land and oneself.

Camp Wollomi proudly sits on land administered by the Metropolitan local aboriginal land Council.

We encourage a spirit of unity, contribution, and radical self-reliance.

Please arrive between 1-5pm on the 30th December, so the gates can be closed at 5pm and we can begin together wholeheartedly!

Please ensure you bring ample food and water for this four day event as St Albans can experience extremes of heat and rain. There is limited water available on site. The camp is an hour from any shops.

Please bring shelter and clothing to cover either eventuality including swimwear. Swimming is not allowed after dark, alone, or if not wearing a costume.

Please ensure you bring all camping gear with you.

Yindyamarra is committed to being a family focused event and we request alcohol consumption not be on display. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

This is a leave no trace event. Please take all rubbish with you when you leave.

Car parking is limited so please consider carpooling if possible. Please note there are no vehicle movements allowed in camp after dusk, or once vehicles have been parked up.

Driving directions will be sent to you closer to the event with updates to avoid or cause congestion.

As part of our program for the 2023 St Albans Folk Festival, "A Midsummers Night Dream" by "Come you Spirits", proved to be one of the real highlights. The troupe were engaging, talented and succeeded in bringing Shakespeare to life in ways that made the story so approachable to the entire audience, whether they knew Shakespeare or not. I have many years experience in many forms of theatre and the staging was creative and magical. With the restrictions that come from mounting a production on the open sands of a river, the lighting and sound worked brilliantly. The use of the space by the actors was inspired (I particularly enjoyed the building of the wall). Around 200 people attended the performance and were mesmerised for the entire time. Dealing with Jo and the rest of the "Troupe/Players" was a pleasure and effortless. I can not recommend "Come You Spirits" more highly, together with our Welcome To Country and Smoking Ceremony, this was one of the best parts of the festival. The feedback from audiences was glowing and the smiles of delight on the faces of those lucky enough to attend still present days later.St Albans Folk Festival would be more than happy to welcome "Come you Spirits" back for many years to come.
