Event description
Sunday 4 May | 10:00-12:00pm
3 Pritchard St, O'Connor (Blueback Freediving & Yoga studio)
Are you ready to advance your practice as a freediver and yogi? We invite you to join for our Yoga & Freediving Anatomy workshop to perfect your freediving techniques and practice yoga that actually help you achieve greater depths in freediving.
This immersive workshop will guide you through the whole body anatomy that is relevant to freediving. We will explore the anatomy of each freediving discipline CWT (constant weight), CNF (no fins), FIM (free immersion) to gain a deeper understanding of how different muscles and joints work together to propel you forward in the water in the most efficient way. By the end of this workshop, you will have a perfect yoga sequence for your unique body to take home.
Beginner yogis are welcome as this is not a gymnastic yoga exercise. Instead, we explore a breath-centered traditional hatha yoga with slower transitions and breath holds in between each posture. We will also practice pranayama which is crucial for strengthening your respiratory system and advancing your breath holds.
You'll Experience:
- Perfect yoga sequence for you
- Anatomy of CWT (constant weight), CNF (no fins), FIM (free immersion)
- Good & bad techniques for CWT, CNF, FIM
- Yoga poses for CWT, CNF, FIM
- Pranayama and breath control
- Specific muscles to lengthen and strengthen
Props are all provided. Please come with comfortable clothes and a water bottle.
