Event description

Adhyatma has been practising yoga in the Satyananda lineage for 28 years and teaching for 24 years. She offers a gentle, accesible style of integral yoga, weaving in somatic exercies and qi gong.

Erika is a musician and astrologer based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Erika has an interest in the healing properties of sound for mental and physical wellbeing, which she currently explores through her gong bathing practice.

The session will start with slow yoga to defrag, calibrate and down regulate. This sets the stage perfectly for your nervous system to absorb the frequencies of the gongs. They are not lud. You will not need earplugs.

A gong bath is a unique experience in which you are bathed (clothes on!) in the incredible sounds and vibrations of the gongs and bowls, which lend themselves to enhanced states of well-being, relaxation, happiness and pleasure.

A beautiful sound experience for those who would like to give themselves some special time-out, to use as an aid to meditation, or to practice some deep listening. Bring an intention, an open mind and an open heart. All you'll need to do is allow your body to relax and let the gongs do their thing. There will be cups of tea available afterwards to help us integrate and ground.

*Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, eye mask and blanket for maximum comfort and warmth*

Please let us know if you have had any recent accidents, injuries or surguries.
