Brain Breaks with Chair Yoga and Mindfulness

  • 4 hour Professional Development

In this workshop, learn 15+ yoga tools (breathing exercises, yoga poses, games, and relaxation) to shift yourself and your students into learning-ready states. You'll graduate with the understanding and confidence to use chair yoga as brain breaks in your setting to boost learning and self-regulation.

Get you and your students back on track with brain breaks - short periods of time when your classroom or session takes a breather from the agenda to get moving.

Brain breaks have a proven track record of improving cognitive function by boosting oxygen flow in the brain, improving learning retention, and supporting overall neurohealth.

This workshop is designed to help you get started introducing chair yoga exercises as brain breaks for you and your students. Our chair yoga exercises are simple, evidence-based tools for your classroom to quickly reduce stress and increase focus.

Our chair yoga workshop is perfect for:

  • Classroom teachers who would like to learn easy-to-use brain breaks with their students
  • Counsellors introducing stress reduction and self-regulation techniques
  • Parents seeking simple mindfulness techniques to share with their kids


Why Chair Yoga?

What makes our chair yoga exercises ideal as brain breaks?

Movement based: They get your kids moving. A physical activity, chair yoga boosts energy, reduce stress, increase focus, improve mood, and promote academic success.

Short: Choose from 3, 5, 10 minute breaks, depending on how much time you have in your schedule.

Skills-based:  They're designed with skills in mind: self-regulation, awareness, social emotional awareness and learning ready states


CERTIFICATION

You'll get a Certificate of attendance to proof your hours of PD.

This four hour workshop is also certified by the Yoga Alliance. Upon completion of our Tools for Teachers, participants are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the Yoga Alliance, Yoga Australia, Child Life Council, and select school districts.

Facilitated by Regina Cruickshank, Certified Trainer for Yoga Ed. this practical workshop will get you breathing, moving and explore your mindfulness horizon in a fun and engaging way.
