Yoga for anxiety and depression
5 week course with Rachel Nokes
Therapeutic yoga and movement practices are now backed by evidence and research in how it can assist those experiencing stress and anxiety and depression. During this course we will explore our connection to ourselves, self and co-regulation, finding balance, and creating self-acceptance. We will explore the relationship between our physical being and our energy and how it involves the interaction of our body, thoughts, and actions.
What you will experience;
- Movement practices that are designed to enhance the functioning of the nervous system to improve regulation and therefore well-being
- Increase your skills in shifting habitual patterns of thought and behaviour through embodiment practices (perfect for those who are done talking about stuff)
- Specific methods based on the principles of yoga and embodiment backed up by evidence-based scientific research
- Learn strategies and techniques which bring about more calm and or more energy and positive states of mind and body.
- Movement practices which helps you release stress, tightness, heaviness
- Support in creating a simple home yoga practice so you can bring these techniques into your daily life
This 5 week course will support you in learning body based and creative practices with the intention to support you in managing stress, depression and anxiety and enhance feelings of well-being. This course intends to give you the knowledge, tools & practices that can support your nervous system. This course is suitable for all physical abilities, no yoga experience is required.
About Rachel
A yoga therapist and professional counsellor with over twenty years of clinical experience in working in the community, recovery and mental health space she has personally used movement, breath and embodiment practices in many forms to enhance her wellbeing and shares these techniques in her private practice and trainings and workshops. Rachel exudes enthusiasm and holds a safe yet playful space for exploration and stateshifting.

All attendees are required to have a 15 minute phone consultation with Rachel on enrollment.
