Event description

Yoga off the Mat with Deepika

A Monthly Study Group where we’ll discuss Yoga’s philosophical concepts and how to weave them into our lives.

This month's focus: Asteya: non-Stealing

When I began practicing yoga, it was all about asana (yoga postures) and I didn’t really have any interest in going beyond yoga as a physical practice. Then I read a book on the Yamas and Niyamas (Yoga's ethical practice) during yoga teacher training that changed my life. This book and the new understanding it brought was profoundly transformative and I'm so excited to sit together with you and chat about how this ancient wisdom can support all of us to show up for ourselves and others in the most wonderful ways.

This study group is for everyone- if you've never stepped on a yoga mat before, are new to the practice or are more experienced- this is for YOU!

We will begin with the Yamas, the first five ethical foundations of our practice.

The Yamas

Ahimsa- non-Violence

Satya- Truthfulness

Asteya- non-Stealing

Brahmacharya- non-excess

Aparigraha- non-possessiveness
