Yoga on Country
Event description
Are you ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and cultural immersion?
Join us at Stargazer Lawn in Barangaroo Reserve every Wednesday at 12:30pm to take part in Yoga On Country, our First Nations-inspired yoga sessions offering a blend of traditional practices and modern wellness techniques, designed to nourish your mind, body, and soul.
Each 60-minute experience is unique to the individual and based on participants willingness to be open and curious to the unfolding of First Nations cultural, spiritual beliefs and practices. Each practice is aligned with The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, referring to the 8 limbs of yoga, each of which offers guidance on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life.
Many of our cultural beliefs, practices and ceremonies require deep listening, mindfulness, cleansing and clarity which can be in alignment to the 8 practices of yoga, and in particular, asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breath work), niyama (observance), dharana (concentration) & dhyana (meditation).
Please arrive 10 minutes early to get set up and bring your own yoga mat and towel.
Spots are capped at 30 per class, so if you miss out on registration, you’ll be added to the waitlist.
Participants must be over 16 to enter (participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
