Travel instructions
You'll find us right in the heart of Carlton, just off Lygon Street, on Grattan Street. Enter through the red door at 73 Grattan Street, located just behind Watt's Shoe Store. You can catch the 96, 1 and 6 tram, and it's a quick walk away. Parking can be tricky in Carlton, so make sure you arrive early to find all day parking.
Entry instructions
Doors open 15 minutes before classes start and close 15 minutes after. The front door will be open; please walk up one flight of stairs. The room will be to the left, marked 'the Rose room'. Please leave shoes outside in the shoe rack. There are bathrooms on this level too. We are starting firmly on time, so aim to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the workshop starting.
After entry instructions
Please call Han on 0426567550 if you are entering more than 15 minutes late. Han will try and answer your call as soon as possible; but we do ask you to arrive on time, and early, so that we can be fully present as we facilitate and hold this space.
Hazards
Green Monday Studios has no wheelchair access. The building has a landing and two stories. There is no lift, all areas are accessed via stairs which have a railing to hold on to.
Toilet location
Toilets are on the same level as the workshop. Bathrooms do not have accessibility features and there are no showers.
Accessible parking
There are disabled car parks on Grattan Street.
Seating during workshop
There are options for seating, including chairs, bolsters and yoga mats. All facilities, spaces, and classes are gender neutral.
Sensory Environment
Palo santo wood and essential oils are burned in the building by other facilitators, however the smell is not strong. Reception and studio spaces can be lit softly by warm-toned lamps, rather than the overhead fluorescents. The reception area and stairs are quiet, we ask people to speak respectfully with soft voices. If you have sensory sensitivities, please get in touch and we will endeavour to accommodate you as best we can.
Social Expectations and Sensory Information
Stim objects are available in the props room. There is a library of books and solo activities in the change room if you’d like something to occupy yourself with if you need a break or a quiet moment. Please feel free to bring along your own stim and fidget objects and use them throughout the workshop. You can take a break at any time; no need to let facilitators know. We will also have set breaks throughout the session, including a 30 minute break for lunch. Feel free to bring your own lunch, there is a microwave, kettle and fridge onsite. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and you can ask the facilitator for recommendations of places to go too. There will be opportunities to share your insights to the group, but this is totally optional. We will briefly introduce ourselves at the start, but let us know before we start if you’d rather skip this. There will be up to 20 people in attendance.
