You Me Nature Now Reconnect: Exhibition Viewing, Climate Café, Book Club and Nature-based Art Making
Event description
An informal gathering for nature-lovers to meet and mingle through shared experiences and conversation.
Meet local artist Sharon Field and view her exhibition 3000 Days and Counting in the Belconnen Arts Gallery.
Sharon will be on hand to ask questions and share insights into her creative process and the journey she has been on in creating this epic work.
This will be the main event from 12:30 - 1:00pm or so.
We'll then migrate over to Kiln café where you can enjoy a warming cuppa and:
- Try your hand at making your own nature-based art creation
- Converse freely about your relationship to the environment and climate in a safe and supported space
- Discuss nature-based reads and share resources
- Explore next steps for the group
These activities will be loosely scaffolded but it's really a chance to gravitate toward what you're most interested in. You can come and go/move around, venture outside to the lake etc. Why not bring a friend who might enjoy this experience, new faces are welcome as we grow this little but mighty community. We'll continue through until 3pm when the café closes.
