Whether you're a graduate of the primary Young Detectives workshop wanting to refresh your skills or a newcomer eager to challenge yourself, this masterclass will immerse you in the fascinating world of forensic investigation alongside like-minded peers.

Students will go beyond introductory forensic techniques, delving into advanced fingerprint analysis, skeletal identification, and forensic anthropology. They'll examine real-world forensic cases, explore crime scene reconstruction, and enhance their understanding of DNA analysis and blood spatter interpretation. With hands-on activities, participants will sharpen their investigative skills and learn the science behind real forensic work.

The Masterclass is facilitated by a Gifted and Talented education specialist with over a decade of experience in science education, alongside experts from the Centre for Forensic Anthropology at the University of WA. With a balance of academic challenge and practical application, students will gain a unique insight into modern forensic investigation.

Ages: Strictly 12 to 15
What to bring
- A4 folder (to store handouts), notepad, recess and lunch (nut free please), water bottle.
- A zest for problem solving and a thirst for a challenge!
Arrival & Pick up
- Students will need to be signed in and out of the workshop by a guardian. Students can be dropped off at 9:30 AM and be collected at 3 PM.
Workshops are set at no more than 16 students with at least two expert facilitators.
