Young Doctors - Kidney, Digestive & Musculoskeletal - April School Holiday Workshop (Ages 7-11)

What happens to all that food you consume daily? How can you eat upside down? High potential students aged 7 to 11 are invited to take on this incredible journey and explore the major organs involved in digestion. The first part of this workshop includes digestive system theory, kidney structure and function and dissection. We then move into the amazing world of muscles, nerves and bones. How do you treat a fracture? What structures are involved in movement? Students will delve into musculoskeletal system theory, critical first aid and joint dissection to provide hands on exploration into bones, cartilage, muscles and connective tissues.

This immersive workshop is sure to excite aspiring surgeons and curious minds alike. As part of the long-running and ever-popular Young Doctors series, it offers a challenging and engaging introduction to the field of human anatomy.

Guided by experts in education and medicine
The workshop is facilitated by a Gifted and Talented education specialist with over a decade of experience teaching anatomical dissection, alongside a highly experienced Emergency Nurse who brings real-world medical insights and regularly trains doctors and nurses across Western Australia. Together, they provide a perfect balance of academic challenge and practical enrichment.

Maximum fun and exploration await… but not for the fainthearted!

Ages: 7 to 11

What to bring

• A4 folder (to store handouts), notepad, recess and lunch (nut free please), water bottle.
• A zest for problem solving and a thirst for a challenge!

Arrival & Pick up

• Children will need to be signed in and out of the workshop. Your child can be dropped off at 9:30 AM and be collected at 3 PM. 

Workshops are set at no more than 18 students with at least two expert facilitators.
