Young Doctors: Masterclass (12+) - January School Holiday Workshop

In Young Doctors: Masterclass, students aged 12 to 15 will embark on a deeper exploration of the human body. This course is ideal for graduates of the foundational Young Doctors workshops who want to refresh and expand their knowledge at a more advanced level, or for newcomers eager to delve into detailed anatomy alongside like-minded peers.

Discover the intricate details of the human body like never before!
Students will explore the complexities of the circulatory, respiratory systems and more, learning advanced theory and engaging in hands-on dissections of real organs. From understanding the finer points of oxygen exchange to tracing blood pathways through the heart, this workshop offers an in-depth study of the systems that sustain human life.

Participants will gain a stronger grasp of medical concepts, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and apply their learning through interactive activities like measuring vital signs and analysing anatomical structures. The Masterclass is facilitated by a Gifted and Talented education specialist with over a decade of experience teaching anatomical dissection, alongside a highly experienced Emergency Nurse who brings real-world medical insights and regularly trains doctors and nurses across Western Australia. Together, they provide a perfect balance of academic challenge and practical enrichment.

Ages: 12 to 15 (recommended)

What to bring

• A4 folder (to store handouts), notepad, recess and lunch (nut free please), water bottle.
• A zest for problem solving and a thirst for a challenge!

Arrival & Pick up

• Students will need to be signed in and out of the workshop by a guardian. Students can be dropped off at 9:30 AM and be collected at 3 PM. 

Workshops are set at no more than 16 students with at least two expert facilitators.
