Program Content

Learn how to think and be an Entrepreneur 

If you are aged between 15 - 24 and want to learn about being an entrepreneur and developing entrepreneurship skills then you have to come to this amazing workshop.  These skills will not only help you develop business ideas they will also help you get a job in ANY industry. 

In addition, the idea you come up with whilst doing the program can help you win a selection of amazing prizes. 

Topics include:

Entrepreneurial Mindset

Curiosity, Growth Mindset, Courage, Persistence and Grit, Opportunity Seeking, Problem Solving, Redefining Failure, Optimism, Resourcefulness, Adaptability, Empathy.

Entrepreneurial Skillset

Creativity, Teamwork, Idea Generation, Opportunity, Market Research, Customer Validation, Design Thinking, Prototyping, Business Model Methodology, Pitching, Public Speaking.

Other Essential Skills

Learn the complete business startup cycle from Problem Identification, Ideation, Value Proposition, Validation, Business Modelling, Pitching, and Public Speaking.

What to expect at the Boot Camp?

Challenges

Push the limitations and mental blocks. Learn to Innovate, think on the feet and be creative. The camp forces students to value the team and collaboration spirit, all the while developing an entrepreneurial mindset.

Learn more about your own strengths and weaknesses. Working with teammates not only helps you become a better listener but also more open-minded.

Pitch Competition

The participants will be invited to create a ‘pitch deck’ of their idea using a powerpoint presentation and presenting their pitch to a panel of local business owners.  

A selection of prizes will be awarded up to the value of $2000.

Free (Fully subsidized by Newcastle City Council and Hunter Futurepreneurs Program through Entrepreneurship Facilitators Initiative

Duration: 3 days (workshops) + Day 4 (Pitch competition)

Date: Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th and Friday 9th April 2021

Time: 9:30AM – 3:00PM

Venue: Newcastle Digital Library, 12 Stewart St, Newcastle West, 2302

Number of participants: 20 - 25

Age group: 15-25.

Pitch Competition Night:  5-7PM Thursday 22nd April 2021
