Young People & the COVID-19 Recovery: In Conversation with Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd
Event description
We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on young people. From job losses, mental health crises, social isolation and disrupted education, young people across the Asia Pacific region are bearing the brunt of this crisis. In the face of these challenges, Oaktree and the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition believes young people have the ideas, passion and skills to rebuild our region towards a more just and sustainable future.
That’s why we are bringing together young people from across our region, in conversation with former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, to explore the role of young people in the COVID-19 recovery of our region.
Drawing upon data from Foundations for Tomorrow, a national survey of over 5000 people, our panel will tackle the most pressing questions facing young people in our region today: How can we centre the voices of young people in the COVID-19 recovery? What should a post-COVID world look like, and how do we get there? How can we use this opportunity to build a more just and sustainable future for our region?
This will be a landmark discussion which brings together major youth organisations from Melbourne and across the Asia Pacific. Join us for an unforgettable night of inspiring dialogue about how young people can make a difference in the COVID recovery.
We invite all young people to contribute to this discussion. Please submit your questions for the panel alongside your ticket registration here:
