Event description

Youth Empowerment Theatre – A “Rehearsal for Real Life”

Join us for a Creative Afternoon with Embers in the South and Teula Wylde!

6 to 12 years.

What is Youth Empowerment Theatre?

This workshop is fun, action-packed, and empowering! The energy in the room is all about laughter, connection, and understanding.

Participants will dive into games, embodiment, sculpting, and acting, while learning powerful life skills like:
Empathy
Communication
Resilience

Built on the foundations of Augusto Boal’s theatre techniques, this 1.5-hour experience helps young people:

  • Understand themselves more deeply

  • Develop empathy for others

  • Learn emotional regulation and self-expression

  • Build confidence and self-worth

They’ll leave with practical tools for self-regulation, managing stress and anxiety, and communicating effectively at school, at home, and in the world.

This isn’t your ordinary drama class—it’s about stepping into themselves, rehumanising humanity through playful critical thinking, and using theatre as a tool for personal empowerment.

This is more than a holiday activity—it’s a gift of lifelong skills for well-being, resilience, and confidence.

What to Bring:

✔ Water bottle

Parents: You’re welcome to stay and watch or drop the kids off and return at the end.

Snacks Provided: Fresh fruit, crackers, and more.
