Unleash your potential with Sutherland Shire's FREE Summer Skills Training!

LEARN ESSENTIAL LIFE SAVING SKILLS 
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills in providing first aid and basic life support until the arrival of medical assistance. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This course covers adult and child conditions. 

Age

  • 14 - 25 years old
  • Participants must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance and have written consent from a guardian if under the age of 16


Course Prerequisites

Participants are required to have an USI number. It is easy to get. Get your USI number HERE.

Arriving
Participants are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the course commencement.

Content
The face-to-face training is 7 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of the First Aid course.
There is a short multiple choice quiz at the end of the training, covering the practical First Aid information learnt that day. Students will also be assessed on practical skills to pass the course. Once completed, all students will receive their certificate.

The ​HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date.
The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills are refreshed annually.

All Accredited First Aid training is offered by LivCor, RTO 3586 which will be responsible for the quality of training and assessment provided and for the issuing of Statements of Attainment. Training and assessment will be conducted by Applied First Aid under LivCor responsibility and direction.

Catering

Catering will be provided for a morning tea and lunch break.
A local cafe can be accessed across the road.

Clothing

Wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor.
Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
