School Holidays Youth Hike
Event description
Dear friends and community
Parents and guardians of youth aged 11-17 are welcome to join us for a community bush walk in the spring school holidays.
The walk is intended to connect community and to encourage our young people to connect with nature, meet new friends, learn new skills and enjoy the beautiful south coast.
The hike will take place along a the coast of Meroo National Park (located between Bawley Point and Lake Tabourie), starting at Willinga Point and finishing at Stokes Island Picnic Area (approximately 8km).
During the walk we will have opportunities to enjoy, explore and learn about the bush and coastal environment, sharing knowledge, skills and laughs along the way.
Adults will lead the walk and share safety responsibilities. We will require a minimum of 1 adult to 3 youth. Michael Keats, Jamie Lepre and Michael Espinoza have offered to lead the walk. All other adults are welcome to join us or opt to take some time for themselves and meet us at the other end.
*Please note that the walk is a one-way journey starting and ending in different locations, so arrangements will need to be made for drop off and pick up at either end.
So talk to your young ones, gee 'em up, and tell them to bring a friend for a fun day out in nature!
More details to come once we have an idea of numbers.
Feel free to reach out via email.
