Venue: DKB Hall, 8 Hawdon Pl, Dickson (next to Cafe Stepping Stone)
We invite young people and service providers to join us for Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2025 (YHMD25).
The event will include:
- A Welcome to Country by Aunty Violet Sheridan
- Speeches, featuring Minister Yvette Berry and young people with lived experience
- Market space with organisations showcasing their services
- Art activities and outdoor field games
- Food and refreshments provided (including vegan and gluten-free options)

Q: What is Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2023 (YHMD24) about?
A: Youth Homelessness Matters Day (YHMD) is a national day to raise awareness and public discussion about child and youth homelessness. It’s a day to start conversations about sustainable and innovative solutions to support the needs of young people experiencing homelessness.

Q: How do I register for the event?
A: You can register through our Humanitix page. We strongly encourage participants to register, which will help us with event logistics, such as catering.
Q: Where is the event being held? How do I get there?
A: The event location is DKH Hall, 8 Hawdon Pl, Dickson (next to Cafe Stepping Stone).
A car park is available close to the venue if you are travelling by car.
If you are travelling via public transport, there is a bus stop not far from the venue or approximately a 10-minute walk from Dickson Interchange. We recommend using your preferred journey planner (e.g., Transport Canberra's Journey Planner) to plan your journey.
Q: Who will be attending this event?
A: This event's target audience is young people and service providers, but all supporters are welcome. Young people are also welcome to bring along their friends who wish to support the event. We will also have special guests, including local and federal government representatives.
Q: Will there be catering?
A: We will provide snacks and refreshments, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Please include any dietary requirements when you select your ticket.
Q: Will media be present at this event? Will there be photography?
A: We will send a media release closer to the date so that media may be present. We will also have a photographer. If you don't want to be photographed, please inform the photographer at the event.
