Description

YOUTH JAMS - Hopetoun
Free. Weekly. Term 3.

What is it?
Youth Jams is a new pilot program from Rave About Arts, giving young people space to explore making music together - jamming, experimenting with sound and capturing what you make along the way. It's not formal lessons. Where it goes is really up to the group.

Who's it for?
Young people in Hopetoun in grades 7-12 - whether you've never touched an instrument or already play one, this is open to anyone keen to have a go.

When
Thursday afternoons from 5:30pm-6:30pm during Term 3 - dates to be confirmed!

Where
YAS shed - 99 Tamar St

What's involved
This is a whole-term commitment, so you'll need to be able to attend each week. Spots are limited to just 7 young people to keep it small and relaxed. Because spots are limited, please register your interest and we'll be in touch shortly to confirm.

This project was made possible by the Australian Governments Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia.

Proudly also supported by the Shire of Ravensthorpe.

FAQs

  • What happens after I register my interest?

You'll get a confirmation email straight away and we'll be in touch shortly after to confirm your spot.

  • Do I need to sign up for the whole term, or can I just try a session?

This one's a whole-term commitment. Because the group is small and builds together each week, we need everyone to be able to attend regularly.

  • Does my child need to already play an instrument?

Not at all - this is open to complete beginners and kids who already play. It's not formal lessons, so there's no set skill level to meet.

  • Does my child need their own instrument?

We have some on hand, but if your child plays an instrument, they are absolutely encouraged to bring it along!

  • What if we miss a week?

Life happens - just let us know if you can't make it. But because spots are limited and it's a small pilot group, we do ask that ongoing absences aren't the norm.
