Event description
The Youth Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist adolescents who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan.
Matt is a Principal Master Instructor and Instructor Trainer (T4T)Â with MHFA Australia and a trained psychotherapist.
This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Mental health problems coveredÂ
• Depression and anxietyÂ
• Eating disordersÂ
• PsychosisÂ
• Substance use problems
Mental health crises coveredÂ
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
• Non-suicidal self-injuryÂ
• Panic attacksÂ
• Traumatic eventsÂ
• Severe psychotic statesÂ
• Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
• Aggressive behaviours.
This is a Blended Youth course with approximately 5 hours elearning + one day face to face Jan 30, 2025.
