🧠 Blended Online Youth Mental Health First Aid Course
Be the difference in a young person’s life.
Learn how to support adolescents experiencing a mental health problem, crisis, or worsening of a condition—at home, school, sport, or in the wider community.
📘 About This Course
This is the blended online version of the Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course, designed for adults who live with, care for, or work with young people aged 12–18.
The course is delivered in two components:
Part 1
💻 Self-paced eLearning (Approx. 5 hours)
Learn at your own pace with interactive online modules developed by MHFA Australia.
Part 2
🎓 Live Instructor-led Webinars
Participate in three live Zoom sessions (2.5 hours each) with a Principal Master Instructor, where you'll apply the eLearning in a supportive and practical setting.
✅ Who Is This Course For?
Perfect for parents, carers, teachers, school staff, youth workers, coaches, and other adults who support adolescents in any setting.
No prior mental health knowledge is required.
✅ What You’ll Learn
This course will give you the knowledge and skills to support a young person who is:
Developing a mental health problem
Facing a worsening of an existing issue
In a mental health crisis
Topics include:
Depression and anxiety in young people
Eating disorders
Substance use
Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
Non-suicidal self-injury
Trauma and aggression
Psychosis in adolescence
How to respond and refer appropriately
You’ll leave the course with a practical, evidence-based action plan for helping young people access professional care and feel supported.

You must complete Part 1 (eLearning) before attending the Zoom webinars.

About Trish:
Presenter Tricia Siva is a Master instructor of teen and Youth MHFA, and a MHFA Standard (Workplace and Community) Instructor. Tricia’s open and energetic instructor style is underpinned with significant academic background including a Bachelor of Psychological Science, and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and is a member of the Australian Facilitators network.
Tricia has a passion for improving the mental health and wellbeing of all people in our communities with a particular interest in young people and those in contact with adolescents.
