Youth Participation 101 for Environmental Volunteer Managers

Are you hoping to involve more young volunteers in your environmental projects? Do you need guidance to boost how your project or group engages young people effectively?

At the Youth Participation for Environmental Volunteer Managers workshop, we’ll talk about the successes you’re having and unpick the barriers you may be encountering to increase your confidence in working alongside young people.

This workshop is delivered in partnership by YACVic and DEECA.

This interactive session will engage your passion and fill up your toolbox for effective youth participation.

YACVic are committed to access and inclusion. Throughout the training we have 2 ten minute breaks, enable Zoom's automatic captioning and provide image descriptions of visuals used. If you require extra support to attend the session, we can book in live captioning and/or Auslan interpreter's.

• Discuss the fundamentals of youth engagement
• Embed the voices of young people within your work
• Share stories and workshop any challenges you are facing
• Learn about YACVic’s model of youth participation (both successes and learnings
• Touch on the environmental volunteer Youth Ready Assessment & Guide, designed to help your group involve independent young volunteers, from teens through twenties
• Graduates are invited to join the Youth Participation Practice Network (YPPN)
