Location: Emu Creek, west of Renny Place, Belconnen. Some street parking available in Renny Place.
Want to spend time making a positive impact this weekend? Join the Youth Roving Landcare Group and the Emu Creek Landcare Group for a morning of planting and weed control with like-minded nature enthusiasts. This event, for ages 15 to 30, offers a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and meet new friends. We also encourage you to bring your mates along!
About the Youth Roving Group:
The Youth Roving Group unites young nature enthusiasts from across Canberra to care for the environment while fostering a strong sense of community. It’s a chance for you, the next generation of Landcarers, to actively contribute to environmental conservation and build lasting connections.
About Emu Creek Landcare Group (aka Emu Creek Park Planting Group):
Emu Creek Landcare Group is a neighbourhood group working on drainage line/open area in Belconnen. The group usually meets monthly to work on bush regeneration, weeding and plantings. Other endeavours include, tackling African Lovegrass, more plantings including some bush foods, establishing a “tool library”, and setting up set up habitat boxes for microbats - come explore and learn about their current projects!
What to Expect:
- Meeting like-minded young people
- Collaborative activities that benefit the environment and community
- Morning tea provided to keep you refreshed!
What to Bring:
- Gardening gloves, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses/safety glasses, and closed-toed shoes
- Long pants and tops
- Water bottle
- Morning tea is provided, but feel free to bring along extra snacks
- Lots of enthusiasm!
