Youth Songwriting Workshop with Andrea Kirwin

Peace Run Records presents a youth Songwriting workshop on Wednesday 9 July at Homegrown Cafe, Palmwoods from 10am - 2pm with Andrea Kirwin catering for emerging singer-songwriters ages 10 - 16 years with a focus on how to create songs and connect with your inner artist. Andrea has been a successful touring singer-songwriter for 20 years on the Australian Folk Festival scene and is bringing her expertise to inspire the next generation and show them the tips and tricks she's learnt over her career. Tickets are $60 + booking fee and the cafe will be open with food and drinks available for purchase. The workshop will take place in the tin shed behind the cafe.

Workshop attendees will learn how to start writing and how to arrange music and lyrics to create good songs learning how to follow ideas and bring songs to life. The morning session from 10am to 12pm will cover the basics with a focus on language, creating an aesthetic through use of rhythm and style and the second session from 12.30 - 2pm will be creating original pieces and writing a group song/anthem.
