We are the Garden. How so?
A San Diego couple--inspired by the movie Common Ground starring Good Neighbor Gardens--builds a backyard garden to grow their own food and introduces Good Neighbor Gardens to Origins, a local bulk grocer. Now the whole neighborhood gets invited to a GET DOWN to do more of the same.
In this way, we are like the unseen fungal network in the soil, which mirrors the web of relationships that hold a thriving community together.
Origins Grocer is an organic, sustainable grocer and refill shop located at 2855 El Cajon Blvd Suite 4, San Diego, CA 92104 in North Park, San Diego.
Good Neighbor Gardens 501(c)(3) farms yards and teaches the practice of growing food to people of all ages. They aggregate the extra harvest and distribute it to neighbors in the city. A portion of the proceeds goes to garden education in urban farming spaces. Optional donations to this event support San Diego Schools GNG Garden Education Program.
