Zine-making with Robyn Cook
Event description
Zine-Making Workshop with Robyn Cook – Cultivate the Chaos
What happens to the things we once loved when we’re gone? The random, the beautiful, the less-than-beautiful. Each object carries a whisper of the life it belonged to. Rather than see the treasures fade into landfill or sit anonymously on op-shop shelves, let’s bring them back to life.
In this hands-on zine-making workshop, I’ll share materials gathered from my long years of murmurating, items loved by others before they came into my care. You’ll have the chance to cut, collage, reimagine, and write your way into their stories. We’ll borrow words from old books, pair them with found images, and let pictures and phrases speak what’s in our hearts.
Zines are a perfect vessel for this kind of exploration; small, raw, and completely your own. Whether you lean poetic, political, funny, melancholy, or just plain weird, your zine will capture your response to these objects and the ideas they stir.
Come ready to play, reflect, and create something meaningful from the things that have already lived a life. Leave with inky fingers, a handmade zine, and maybe a new way of seeing the world and its leftovers.
