Teen Zine Making Workshop - Kids School holiday Workshop
Event description
Dip your toe into the underground world of guerrilla self “publishing” in this special Zine workshop with our friends from Squid Ink Press.
Zines give everyone a platform to be heard! There are no rules, just bring your ideas and your bad poetry. Our facilitators will introduce you to the history of zines (from the science fiction 'fanzine" of the 1940s through to the Riot Grrrl punk feminist zines of the 90s and 2000s) and will include students to examples of zines from India and ones that have been locally produced.
Participants will learn how to continue making their own zines and will expect to leave with 4 to 5 zines each which are great for swapping with friends.
This is a 3-hour workshop and includes all materials. Suitable for 12yrs to 17yrs.
