Zine Workshop #4

About the session: A zine, short for ‘magazine’, is a small, self-published booklet on any topic of the makers choosing. They are transgressive in nature and inextricably linked to LGBTQIA+ movements and counter culture. With prompts to help you get started, and plenty of materials to spark your imagination, participants will be supported to make a personal zine in a warm and inclusive group environment.

This is a series of four workshops. It is suggested that participants attend all four sessions, but you may also register for whichever sessions you'd like to attend.

About the facilitator: El Spark (they/them) is an artist and student currently completing their Masters of Art Therapy at LaTrobe University. Passionate about community care and mutual aid, El is working on developing accessible art programs for wellbeing and connection.

Who is it for:

• Transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary folk

• The group is neurodivergent, POC, and all abilities friendly

• Participants must be 18 years and over

This workshop has a $1 minimum ticket price for safety and security reasons. If you are unable to purchase a ticket, please email us at programs@tgv.org.au

Please be advised that these workshops are being undertaken as part of the facilitator's Masters of Art Therapy final project. Participants attending workshops will ideally consent to completing a short questionnaire and having their artworks photographed. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
