Zine Workshop with Bryce Galloway: Cut n Paste Daydream / Cut n Paste Nightmare
Event description
Collage is so liberating. It’s fast, and you don’t even have to be able to draw or paint. The Surrealists knew a thing or two about collage, as did the Dada that preceded them.
Join Te Whanganui-a-Tara based artist Bryce Galloway for an engaging collage and zine workshop. You'll explore the creative freedom of collage and contribute to a finished publication. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Bryce and learn from his expertise.
About Bryce Galloway: Bryce Galloway is the creator of New Zealand’s longest-running zine, Incredibly Hot Sex with Hideous People. He is also the instigator of the Kirikiriroa Hamilton Zinefest and a member of the Wellington Zinefest board. Bryce makes music, often with longtime collaborator EE Monk under the band name Wendyhouse. His work often explores autobiographical themes with a touch of self-deprecating humour, challenging our culture of appearances.
What’s a zine? For the uninitiated, a zine (pronounced 'zeen', like 'magazine') is a rough 'n' ready amateur magazine. Originally known as fanzines, zines have evolved from their roots in fandom to embrace a wide range of eclectic topics. You'll be contributing to and taking away your own zine just two hours and a half after first arriving.
