The Hobart Derwent Zonta Club - 2025 Advocacy Event - Eight Out of Ten Turned Away

We turn away 8 out of 10 women and children seeking support. There is a crisis. The violence continues. Where are the places to escape? What are the new strategies for crisis management and longer-term solutions.

Janet's career spans more than 30 years. She is passionate about creating change that prevents violence against women and strengthening pathways to safety, stability and independence.

Donations and Fundraising on the evening will be used to support The Hobart Women's Shelter fit out units with fresh linen and soft furnishings that women in refuge can take with them into their new lives.

When a unit is set up this way it communicates more than comfort, it says "You are welcome. You Matter. You are safe here".
