Thu, Aug 7, 6pm - 8pm MDT

Event description

Join us this month at UCCS Downtown (102 S Tejon St ste 105-a, Colorado Springs, CO 80903). Dinner will be provided!

We'll be discussing how our budget works, the difference between Club and Foundation funds, and diving into our fundraising ideas for the coming year.

Our speaker, Morgan Hildebrand, will help us lay the foundation for our work and better understand how what we do fits into a Public Health Approach framework.

She'll facilitate an insightful discussion on how to stop violence before it starts, using the key categories of violence prevention:

  • Primary Prevention: Stopping it before it ever happens.

  • Secondary Prevention: Acting early when violence is just beginning or has already occurred, to prevent it from getting worse.

  • Tertiary Prevention: Helping people recover after violence and preventing it from happening again.

We'll also discuss how these ideas fit into the bigger picture of our community and society via a Social-Ecological Model. Most importantly, we'll talk about how we, as Zonta PPA, can use these strategies in our work to help reach Zonta International's goal of making the world safer and fairer for women and girls.

Insightful. Interesting. A great way to build our knowledge for Zonta International and our club. Please join us!
