LUCIE THORNE & ASH BELL present
    - Songs for Sara -
    Golden Girl Album Launch

GOLDEN GIRL is a posthumous Sara Tindley album project that has been brought together by two of Sara's long-time musical friends, Lucie Thorne and Ash Bell. A collection of solo home recordings made by Sara in the last year of her life, the album also features two new songs written by Lucie and Ash in tribute to their dear friend, alongside two previously unreleased duets with Sara.

GOLDEN GIRL opens with Sara's heart-wrenching rendition of Simon & Garfunkle's Kathy's Song. Recorded on Feb 25 2022, mere months after her daughter Lily died, and on the cusp of catastrophic floods, Sara posted this recording saying, “I have hardly touched my guitar since my darlin Lily died. My friend Genna sent me this Simon and Garfunkel song but the Secret Sisters version. It gave me comfort and I tasked myself with learning it. Now I’m sharing my version on this rain drenched northern rivers day.”

Several of these recordings were made as demos for what would go on to become ‘Greetings from Lake St Clair’, Sara’s extraordinary final studio album. These songs shine with Sara’s power and pathos, with a voice that sings straight into your heart, and with the potency, vulnerability and warmth that made her such a beloved songwriter.

GOLDEN GIRL will be released through little secret records on 14 November 2024 (Sara's birthday) and will be available at the launch gigs, via Sara Tindley Bandcamp and streaming services.
