Maria De Marco & Esther Monck star in a mother of a cabaret…. where you can get your ‘mummy issues’ off your chest!

After 20 years of living away from home, you would think Maria’s problems are over? But she’s turning fifty and she’s alone. After a failed marriage and with a daughter who won’t speak to her, Maria needs help! When mental health professionals, self–help books and a journey of self- discovery all fail… and your own mother can’t help (because she IS the problem!) all that’s left is group therapy. Singing, comic cabaret group therapy!!

In BACK TO M.A. Maria De Marco returns to the group (yep, her audience!) that helped her once with her ‘mummy issues’ in M.A. at the NSW Writers Centre in 2004 and Newtown Theatre in 2011. And in this stand-alone sequel she lets it all out in the only way she knows how: by talking (and singing) about, it behind her mother’s back… to a room full of strangers!

Can 12 steps to serenity get her back to her daughter?
All are welcome, especially those with mother issues!

Featuring re- imagined Broadway showtunes and pop songs, BACK TO M.A. is a sequel Maria De Marco’s first solo cabaret M.A. But you don’t need to know the history (or the baggage) to enjoy this hilarious, feel-good show!

After 2 years of covid postponements and cast changes, BACK TO M.A. is finally here - at the El Rocco Room in Kings Cross!
When you can’t talk to your mother, you go BACK TO M.A. The mother of all cabarets! A room full of strangers will make sure you are heard - and loved!
