Join us for a relaxed ceramics workshop where you’ll learn hand‑building techniques to create your own functional matcha pouring bowl, along with a tea cup and a miniature matcha bowl charm to take home as a keepsake.
Guided step‑by‑step by the wonderful team from The Ceramic Studio, this workshop is designed for matcha lovers and curious makers alike. You’ll explore working with clay, shaping forms, refining details and understanding how functional ceramics are designed for daily use while having a great time in the process.
All materials, tools and firing are included — just bring your curiosity and we will ensure a wonderful experience as part of the limited Canberra Made workshop series at the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre.
What you’ll make
Over the course of the workshop, you’ll create:
A hand‑built ceramic matcha pouring bowl
Designed with both form and function in mind, perfect for whisking and pouring.A small handmade tea cup
A complementary piece to complete your matcha set.A mini matcha bowl charm
Finished as a charming keyring or keepsake — a playful extra that makes this workshop truly special.
Your pieces will be professionally fired after the workshop and ready for collection from the Visitors Centre or The Ceramic Studio in Mitchell, once complete (approx. 2 weeks).
