IGNITE Business Launchpad: Start Your Own Social Enterprise

Thinking of starting a social enterprise, or simply wondering how a business can do good? This is the session for you!
You might have heard of businesses that call themselves social enterprises – they run like normal businesses, but their profits go back into causes that matter – and wondered what it is all about, or even what it takes to start one?
You’ll learn more about what it means to run a social enterprise, causes that you can champion, examples of social enterprises from around the world that you can learn from and the steps that can be taken to get one started! There are two parts to the event:
- Info Session from 12:30 - 2:00 pm which will be focused on what social enterprises are, how you can start one and what else is happening around the world, to inspire and encourage you.
- Enterprise Building from 3:00 - 4:30 pm where you will receive support and advice on your social enterprise to build it up into something that should exist!
Both sessions are run by Adam Mostogl (2015 Finalist, Young Australian of the Year) who is a social entrepreneur in his own right, and has helped facilitate the world’s biggest innovation process for the Sustainable Development Goals, participated in events hosted by the US State Department, the World Economic Forum and the United Nations amongst others.
The event is part of the IGNITE Business Launchpad, an initiative of Central Coast Council to help young people explore entrepreneurship and starting their own business with confidence, support and advice.
